Absolutely gorgeous Sunday lunch, I of course indulged in the roast beef, sadly no pink/bloody but nevertheless the meat was really soft and succulent. Vegetables were cooked perfectly, non-raw or overcooked and the roast potatoes were also delicious. My better half had turkey and it must have been really good. As none was left for me to help her. Plenty of staff on Hand to meet our every whim, all very polite and helpful. I would say the service was exceptional, so well done to the staff at the bluebell inn. I would highly recommend booking for Sunday lunch as it was pretty full throughout hour time There. Please bear in mind that the parking is a little chaotic, if parking on the road please think of the neighbours and their accessibility to their own driveway Will definitely be returning despite the 20 minutes plus drive to get there

Came across this pub on our way from Leeds to Birmingham and so glad we did. Amazing food so delicious, the place was heaving on a Thursday evening before 7. Very friendly staff, couldn’t fault it. Wish we lived nearer, would definitely be a regular.

We were a bit late getting onto our table but I think this was due to the previous diners taking their (very sweet) time in finishing up! Great choice of dishes, something for everyone & a good choice of specials too. The food was delicious, everyone in our party of 10 enjoyed what they had. Beautiful building with traditional interior & friendly & helpful staff. Thanks for my birthday meal X

Lovely place for food, in particular! Theres loads of parking and street parking. The staff are welcoming and plentiful; we didn’t have to wait long, even at lunch, Sunday 12:30 The atmosphere was good. I didn’t notice any music on reflection; just the business of the place. That said, everyone is spaced well and it doesn’t feel stuffy. The menu is classically British and full of lovely choices, all of which look stunning when they come out. I had rosemary roasted chicken with red wine jus which was tender, and a very nicely-sized portion. The food was hot throughout and hasn’t been left standing. Desert was a crumble, apple and raspberry. It was tart, sweet and had crunch to the crumble. The custard was lovely. Very nice indeed. Those plus a pot of tea were less than 30 with a tip; not bad for good quality food! Upstairs they have a pizza oven and my friend says they are delicious stone baked pizzas. Outside there’s about 10 double-sided benches with large brollies; it was drizzling but we were dry and it was scenic!

A friend and I (vegan and vegetarian) stopped here when travelling to the North East on a Bank Holiday Sunday. Staff were so accommodating, found us a table even though we had not booked. The chef kindly catered a vegan friendly carvery option for us. The food was excellent. Fantastic customer service. Thank you ...

I originally tried to eat at the spread eagle in at Darrington, but when I arrived there, they told me that they don’t serve food on a Tuesday and advised me to visit the Blue Bell instead. I am so glad that they did as the Blue Bell is a pub in nice surroundings that serves delicious food. They had a few specials so I tried the Gambas Pil Pil which was so good.
